Angry Birds is an application for the iOS, webOS, Android and Maemo mobile operating systems. It was released by Rovio Mobile and made in Helsinki, Finland. The objective of the game is to eliminate pigs and destroy their buildings and structures at the same time. This is done by the birds launching themselves out of a giant slingshot and hitting the pigs' various constructs, henceforth eliminating them. Each level allots the player a certain number of birds, which must be used in the order provided.

- Poached Eggs, the pigs simply steal the eggs and attempt to escape. Contains 63 levels, which must be conquered before any of the other episodes may be played.
- Mighty Hoax, the pigs steal the eggs and use a cut-out of the King to distract the birds while they escape. Contains 42 levels.
- Danger Above, the pigs steal the eggs and escape on board a number of makeshift aircraft. Contains 45 levels.
- The Big Setup, the pigs imprison the birds in a cage to prevent their defeat after stealing the eggs. However, a large, red bird is still loose and fights back. Contains 45 levels.
- Ham 'Em High, the pigs, armed with a lasso, lassos the eggs out of the bird's nest, and takes them to the wild west. Contains 45 levels, although the first 15 are currently available.
In addition to these episodes. The currently available Special editions provide the following episodes:
- Trick or Treat, the Halloween-themed episode, shows the pigs scaring the birds, distracting them from the eggs, which allow the pigs an easy opportunity to swipe them. Contains 45 levels.
- Season's Greedings, the holiday-themed episode. It does not show an episode introduction cutscene, although the basic plot remains the same. Has the form of an advent calendar that releases one new level each day from December 1st to 25th. The 25th level is actually a minigame.
There are also Golden Eggs scattered throughout the game, which unlock hidden levels when collected.
Reception
The reviews of Angry Birds have been generally very positive. Chris Holt of Macworld called the game "an addictive, clever, and challenging puzzler", and Pocket Gamer's Keith Andrew said Angry Birds is "a nugget of puzzling purity dished out with relish aplenty." Jonathan Liu of Wired News noted that "going for the maximum number of stars certainly adds a lot of replay value to a fairly extensive game." The game was nominated for the "Best Casual Game" award at the 6th annual International Mobile Gaming Awards, announced in Barcelona, Spain in February 2010.
Angry Birds became the top-selling paid application on Apple's UK App Store in February 2010, and reached the top spot on the US App Store in the spring of 2010.
